Michael Hock
Director of Finance
Michael joined smac partners as Director of Finance in 2006. His activities focus on fund controlling and reporting, portfolio company support in operational and finance matters and the financial due diligence of potential investments. In addition he supports the Managing Partners with fundraising and coordinates the VC market intelligence activities.
With more than six years experience in several finance and controlling departments of the Siemens Group, three years thereof in the venture capital business, Michael has distinguished knowledge in the fields of finance and treasury, controlling, accounting and risk management. He has been involved in various international VC transactions in companies such as Exit Games, OverSi Networks, Razz and Nordnav Technologies.
Before joining smac, Michael worked in the Corporate Treasury Department of Siemens AG, responsible for Insurances, Risk and Liquidity Management. In 2004 and 2005 he worked as Senior Commercial Manager with Siemens Acceleration in Communications. Prior to that he was Subsidiary Manager at Siemens Mobile headquarters, responsible for more than 35 subsidiaries worldwide. From 2000 to 2003, Michael held analyst positions with Siemens Venture Capital in Boston/USA and in the Central Controlling and Reporting department of Siemens Mobile.
Michael holds a Diplom-Betriebswirt (MSc. equivalent) in Finance and Business Administration from the Berufsakademie / University of Corporative Education, Stuttgart.
